Today – as a precious ‘memory’ – my iPhone presents me with… a picture of a lateral flow test.
In fact, I took the picture a few weeks ago. I’ve taken lots of pictures of lateral flow tests over the last few months… so I can blow them up and read the tiny serial number – then punch the number into the NHS website.
I never expected my phone to regurgitate these images for nostalgic effect, with dreamy pans across the flow tests as background muzak plays.
Maybe, though, my iPhone is doing me a favour. Maybe it’s presenting me with the kind of memories I actually will hold on to, of this nutty year or two.
I mean, what could be a better, more representative image of 2020 and 2021 than a lateral flow test? Talk about nostalgia.
